We were 'sold' a story by Government of the day

that we would need migrants to fill jobs

Back in the day, when Eastern European countries gained free movement, a swathe of people came to the UK to work. A few thousand was the estimate of the people that would actually come said the Blair government, it turned into more like 3 million.

As in the late 1950's, when the then government encouraged West Indians to migrate to Britain to fill a perceived shortage of workers, the 'need' was actually not likely there.

In the 1990's, the Army came up with an acronym MARILYN, which stood for manning and recruitment in the lean years of the 90's. Back then, the Army perceived that a falling birthrate would lead to a recruitment crisis.

The start of a new life or modern slavery?

When the Eastern Europeans came, many were from Poland and filled job gaps in the construction market.

Whilst many remembered the Polish contribution in 1940 to our war effort, the mood changed and ghettoes of migrants started to spring up, some companies reportedly became largely migrant employees only or were reportedly seen as taking all the jobs from British people.

The UKIP political party highlighted the situation that mass unchecked immigration would result in and this played a major factor in the Brexit vote going to the 'Out' supporters.

Within the recent Eastern European influx, other migrants from outside of the EU countries managed to get in and ended up in a more sinister scenario, prostitution and forced labour, essentially modern day slavery.

Often these people were students who outstayed their VISAs or came on visitor VISA's and just vanished into the Black Economy. 'Working on the black,' off the radar of tax, benefits, healthcare, basically existing and working illegally in Britain.

They are disenfranchised people and victims of an underclass that is trapped, cannot speak out and cannot escape.

Essentially this has created a situation of modern day slavery and in many cases, the victims of slavery are created so from people from their own countries who live in the UK legally. But white British people might be accused of racism for saying so. Even though that is the truth.

The reason why the illegals become trapped is that they often don't want to leave and want to stay in Britain, they get sucked into an underground population that is 'off the radar'.

Many businesses in the South East of England can only operate because they employ people on the fringes of society, likely unknowingly that the agencies supplying them are supplying illegal workers.

They likely rely on the agencies being apparently 'legit' in supplying 'legit' workers legally entitled to work in the UK. They may feel that as long as they satisfy the 'legal' requirements and only employ from agencies that 'guarantee' to supply 'legal' workers, that is all their oversight complete. They monitor and put in safeguards but people work the system.

Businesses need workers in order to operate. Every now and then some company or other is busted by the Immigration Service and a load of people deported.

The 'compliance' culture and industry is an over bureaucratic job creation scheme and does not address the plight of enslaved workers in the UK. What it was partly supposed to prevent! 

Migrant Workers without rights to be in the UK have little alternative than to go to bent employment agencies to survive.

Bent agencies will essentially supply migrant workers 'on the side', without any accreditation. The workers get paid less than legitimate workers, but they can't say anything or they might get beaten up or bubbled up to the immigration service and deported.

Because they have no right to remain, they just have to stay, keep quiet and keep out of trouble. Often in squalid and Dickensian conditions.

Many 'black economy' migrants have to live in garden sheds

House prices are so high in the South East of England that many indigenous people can't afford to take low paid jobs in the South East and live there too. Migrants in limbo, are often put into houses in these areas with up to 30 other workers and can fill the jobs that others just cannot afford to take. The Landlords having high occupancy can afford to own the houses.

These properties were not designed for this level of multiple occupancy.

When I saw the Eastern European influx 10 plus years ago, I said that there would be a Dickensian era type underclass situation to come and it has sadly been proven right.

One benefit of Brexit is that EU citizens can no longer just come to the UK. For those in the Calais camps waiting to come, the door has been shut, but they still want to get to the UK, even though they will never get legal citizenship.

I do feel sorry for these illegals here but they are after all, illegally here.

Post Brexit result jobs market is better - for a number of reasons

Some months after 'Project Fear' failed to stop the rout, Britain is leaving the EU building, albeit slowly. So has Britain collapsed? Far from it.

Although a lot of speculative bidding was done on the eve of the Brexit vote, those that anticipated a remain, sadly lost a lot more than their shirts when the vote went against them.

But far from gloom and disaster predictions, Britain has not crashed and burned, au contraire, countries are queueing up to negotiate trading deals. So the scaremongering didn't work. Thank goodness.

In the months that followed the leave vote, there has been a shift in the jobs market, more opportunities and why is that?

Partly to do with immigration falling. The future of unlimited it seems immigration is over, there is no automatic right to remain for outside visitors and migrants have been making renewed efforts to get into Britain from the European continent.

What Britain needs is an Australian style points system, so that we can choose who we allow in to the country. We don't need any more Mullahs spouting hate or terrorists so that is one demographic sector or two we can get rid of from our list of people.

Seriously though, the drop in migrants many who come here for agricultural work is down to the advances in Robotic Machinery. These new advances displace human labour, they are able to work for longer and even identify produce at the peak time for picking.

The new interest in Britain has also started to come through into orders from companies to British manufacturing firms which is welcome.

Over the next 10 years 9 million people's jobs will be displaced by robotics and automation, the problem will be how to fix that gap. And how to pay the displaced. That's easy, a basic income guarantee (BIG) is the answer and is cheaper than the current employment model.

Think of Sweden and you'll probably stereotype it with Abba and blonde Nordic people. It is the land from which one side of my family comes from.

But it has for years been a model of a libertarian, socially aware society with a strong, principalled outlook.

Rather than being known historically as a caring and socially responsible society, for years it has been known of as a soft touch for immigration.

Over the years a steady but not too overwhelming stream of migrants has chosen to come there, not for the cold weather and the salty Herrings, but the EU Citizenship.

As perhaps the most liberal EU country, it was probably the easiest country to enter as a migrant from outside of the EU, with which to gain citizenship.

Often, the destination of many migrants was not ultimately this arctic circle Nordic gem with cities like the historically rich Stockholm, but countries like the United Kingdom, because English was the language and to be in a country where it is spoken is the aim, not that you would have any trouble in Sweden with English, just about everyone learns it. 

The problem was that these immigrants were largely being told that in England you could get a free house, healthcare and welfare handouts, without having to pay in. So of course, these migrants, usually single men of military service age went on the move hoping to get there.

The land of the midnight sun, famous prior to 1974 only as the land of the Vikings, famous for their nautical endeavours has now recently been the subject of a mass influx of mainly Middle Eastern single male migrants. In recent times this has shown an epidemic of crime, with sexual crimes, violence and harassment of women in Sweden on an unprecedented scale.

Not that you would know that. The politically correct clampdown on the reporting of the racial categories of offenders has backfired, with reports and statistics being reported outside of the mainstream media. And also the graphic pictures of victims, alive or otherwise.

This leads to a dangerous situation. With the authorities seemingly intent in keeping the lid on horrific crimes which have also included murder, this provides fuel for the far right supporters and their numbers swell because of it.

Perhaps the normally placid Swedes might now be quietly talking about the 'invasion' that is blighting their country and creating division. We have seen in Germany what happens when denial and cover up occurs, the news does get out and the people get angry and angrier because they have been lied to.

Indeed, the normally relaxed man in the (Stockholm) street so to speak, is not going to tolerate this sort of behaviour in his civilised country. For much longer.

The welcome has gone sour

But he is not alone. Germany, Denmark, Finland and other countries are becoming multi-cultural dustbins where crimes against residents are becoming widespread and may erupt into civil unrest if something is not done.

The problem is that these immigrants think that they can bring their 'culture' to these modern and civilised countries. They can't.

Their particular brand of mysoginistic conflict against white women is striking matches in a dry tinderbox situation where the ghettoised migrant populations do not integrate, but congregate.

These self-appointed arbiters of what the status quo should be then try and impose their own cultural point of view on the host country.

Typically when these immigrants often queue jump into social housing, ahead of the resident people, it causes resentment.

Indeed, it is now safe for many of these immigrants to be returned to where they came from.

For those in charge, sitting on their hands is not an option, repatriation is the model they should choose. Those that wish to integrate and contribute to their host society without breaking the law are not the problem, it those that rampage through their host countries trying to impose their own cultures and beliefs where they have no right.

For liberal Sweden, it needs to take off the rose tinted spectacles and smell the coffee. It, like Germany and other nations where large immigration has occurred, can not afford to be seen as a soft touch or apparently tolerant, it has to go in hard and deal with the problem.

Because the immigrants are now laughing at how soft and stupid their hosts are as a result of 'soft-touch' policies.

And the architects of this mass immigration including Mrs Merkiel are starting to look very silly now it is all going wrong. Some of us could see what was going to happen, it didn't take a genius to see how this was going to unfold. Badly.

Some might call me a racist for highlighting this situation, I am not, it is reality, if you don't like it, go and see for yourself and talk to the people who have lived there for generations.

This is a wake up call that should not have had to have been made.

Automation is coming to the agricultural industry, displacing the manual worker.

With many seasonal workers coming to the UK to pick fruit and vegetables, those days could soon be coming to an end thanks to the march of the robots.

Robotic pickers that can analyse produce for growth, readiness and optimum picking time are now coming in to play.

The units can 'read' produce to determine suitability for collection, this means that the best ready fruit is picked and at any time of the day or night. The machines can 'remember' and know where to pick due their vast memory. Essentially their data builds 'picking lists' and the machine selects only those optimum stocks.

This ensures profitability, with no or much reduced human labour costs, a one off investment in machines which can work almost all of the time, less servicing time which will often be out of the growing season and less wastage.

With a 'to the provider' level of optimum condition 'prime' products, this removes much of the attributable waste that can be claimed by an end seller such as a supermarket, which is a winner for the producer.

The automation march is certainly impacting the workplace in not just low skilled work but all the way up to the top levels of the game.
