Guitar Reviews for you - the Pete Townshend custom chop smashocaster

The Fender Custom Shop Pete Townshend Stratocaster 2016

The 2016 model Pete Townshend Custom Shop Stratocaster made by Fender in the USA is based on the Eric Clapped out signature guitars Pete Townshend currently uses on stage and is a limited run guitar.

Indeed the first guitar I ever repaired was a Telecaster that had been partially demolished in a Metzger-inspired tantrum by Mr Townshend on stage in the 60's.
And here it is when it was in one piece.... still, just about.

So perhaps tongue in cheek we should consider the ultimate relic that the Custom Shop could make and there is only one guitar hero worthy of this ultimate exercise in destructive futility.

A younger and very respectable looking Pete Townshend with a 1960's Fiesta Red Stratocaster, any bets on how long it is going to remain in one piece?

About an hour if you're lucky ... oh no not another one..
Better get down to the Selmer shop in the morning, for another.

Can' explain ... why anyone would want to build a guitar and do this to it but....

Here it is the Custom Shop 'Smashocaster.'

Yes a new concept in creating the ultimate relic guitar!

Parts undergoing the carefully devised and monitored relic process

Substitute...accept none but the genuine article

We take the utmost trouble to build an exact replica guitar and than smash it to fuck.

Only the finest select tonewoods are used in this pointless exercise

Won't get fooled again? ...
except we do one in different colours that you must own.
Mortgages on Grandmothers are subject to status

Secretly filmed footage of part of the relic progress

Who are you?.... Probably on another planet sunbeam!

Each guitar has a unique numbered certificate of authenticity and has hand wound pickups

Butter fingers... oops that's fucked it!
Each guitar lovingly and personally destroyed by the man himself at no extra charge!

A man who is obviously happy in his work

So, there you have it folks, a chance to own the ultimate relic guitar, framed and presented in an authentic reissue tweed case which we drove over with a loaded dustcart for added authenticity.

And for all those Rickenbacker fans, no need to feel left out because.....
We smashed this one all to shit too.

With only a limited run of 20 guitars, you can't go wrong with this as a classic investment.
